My world shattered on Thanksgiving night, November 24, 2022, when I received a devastating phone call from my son Cale. His brother Cole, just 21 years old, had overdosed on fentanyl after taking a pill he thought was harmless. In an instant, our lives were forever changed.
Cole was more than just a statistic; he was a loving father, a dedicated employee, and a bright light with a promising future. Fentanyl, a silent killer, took him from us, leaving behind a young son who bears his resemblance and spirit.
The pain of losing Cole is unbearable, and every day feels like an eternity without him. But amidst our grief, we're driven to ensure his tragedy serves as a warning to others. We founded Parents Against Fentanyl in his honor, determined to educate and prevent similar losses.
If only Cole had known the risks that night... if only he had realized the pill he took had a 60% chance of killing him. We believe he wouldn't have taken it. He didn't want to die; he just wanted to feel good for a moment.
Let Cole's Story Be a Warning
Fentanyl doesn't discriminate. It can take anyone, regardless of age, background, or circumstances. We urge you to be vigilant, to talk to your loved ones, and to spread awareness about the dangers of fentanyl.
Don't let another family suffer the excruciating pain we're enduring. Let's work together to prevent more senseless losses and ensure that Cole's legacy lives on through our efforts to combat this deadly epidemic.
