On November 25, 2022, our world was shattered. We received a devastating phone call from our son, saying, 'We messed up.' The ensuing hours were the darkest we've ever experienced. We watched in agony as our son, Cole, fought for his life in the back of an ambulance, surrounded by police, EMS, doctors, and investigators. We later learned that he had taken a fake pill containing fentanyl. Tragically, we lost him the next morning.
Cole was a new father, an amazing son, and had finally found a job he loved. He was going through a tough time and sought a temporary escape. He and his brother bought a pill, thinking it would provide a few hours of relief. One brother felt nothing; the other lost his life.
Fentanyl is not just an addict's problem; it's a lethal drug that has infiltrated almost every illicit or recreational drug. You may be closer to someone affected by this epidemic than you think. Our goal with this nonprofit is to prevent another family from receiving the phone call we got that Thanksgiving night. We're partnering with local organizations to raise awareness, combat stigma, and educate those who could be affected by this drug. We hope to save lives and spare families from our unbearable pain.
